Attractions

Paoay Church

Paoay Church (also known as the St. Augustine Church in Paoay) is a historical church located in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. During the Philippine Revolution in 1898, its coral stone bell tower was used by the Katipuneros as an observation post.

Windmill

The road towards the base of the windmills cuts across a narrow stretch of rice field, then through a low hill with small trees at both sides. Birdwatchers would probably notice the birds perched on the branches and on the road itself.

Kapurpurawan Rock Formation

From the town of Burgos, its a short but rough tricycle ride to Kapurpurawan. Inside the cramped side car (which can only fit two people if you squeeze them in really hard), we literally bounced our way down to the coast. I hit my head several times on the roof of the car.

Coral Reefs

Coral reef growth and relative sea-level record for the early mid-Holocene are established from three boreholes drilled on a raised Holocene reef at Currimao, northwestern Luzon, Philippines. Age control is provided by 230Th dates of 13 corals mostly in living position.
